Voler Factory Tour: Dolce Vita Team Camp

Dolce Vita would like to extend a HUGE thank you to our main sponsor, Voler Team Apparel, for not only an incredible line of clothing in 2010, but allowing our elite team into their doors as one of the highlights of our team camp.  Upon being greeted the by the key staff, including head managers Michelle and Jim, we turned to Michelle for a tour of the facility to learn how each and every team order is produced.

We first learned that the majority of the prep time for the kit actually takes place in the art department--placing art, adding sponsors, and fine-tuning the design.  Not only does Voler keep a sample of each jersey so that they can be sure that re-orders will be exact, but they create full scale prints of each and every kit to be reviewed by the team managers prior to production.  This ensures that the teams receive exactly what they are looking for!

The printing and sublimation process is truly what makes Voler so unique.  The kit design is first printed onto paper and then "sublimated," or transitioned from a solid to vapor under high heat, onto white jersey material placed over the design.  High heat turns the solid ink on the paper into a gas that rises onto the fabric, where it cools and then becomes solid again!  This process, although fairly fast, requires an enormous amount of labor to ensure that each piece comes out perfectly.  We were simply wowed by the technique and accuracy of Voler's printing, cutting, sublimation, and sewing team.  Your kit passes through HUNDREDS of hands before you receive it!

We also learned that not only are 100% of the printing papers recycled, but this company is SOLAR POWERED.  Awesome!  You can read about their green initiative here:  http://blog.voler.com/post/Voler-Green.aspx, but the simple fact is that this company is incredibly reputable and conscientious--and perhaps most importantly, supporting workers and creating products 100% in the U.S.A.

Voler Team Apparel--with a mission and an initiative supporting countless of teams with exemplary customer service and truly, an incredibly progressive and forward-thinking mindset.

THANK YOU, Voler!
